Joy Ann Wilson

I am the founder and director of Caribbean Joy Dance Entertainment. My dance company specializes in Afro-Caribbean Dance including limbo, fire artistry and the broken bottle dance. I am the co-founder and former artistic director of Caribbean Jem Dance Group.

Here is a little insight into my dance journey; I started training at the Barbados Dance Theater, where I learned contemporary jazz, ballet, Caribbean folk dance and modern dance. I became an apprentice with the company before moving to California.

I continued dancing at UC Riverside, San Bernardino Valley College, and Riverside Community College. I developed an interest in world dance and took classes and workshops in West African dance, Persian dance, Armenian dance, Central Asian and Caucasian dance and Brazilian dance.

I performed with several dance companies in Southern California; Egidede, We The People Cultural Consortium, Flowmotion, Elegant Flair, Vivir Brazil, Avaz International Dance Theater, The Umoja Ensemble of the Inland Empire. I’ve also worked on projects such as Soliloquies of Women and Dancing with the Leaders of the Inland Empire.

My focus is on building Caribbean Joy Dance Entertainment and making it your top choice for entertainment for any celebratory occasion, whether hosted in an intimate setting or a corporate extravaganza.
